Carnivorous plants are known for trapping and consuming animals, typically insects and other anthropods. These plants can grow in places, there are species of carnivorous plants that can grow in the wild or in the water but mostly they can grow where the soil is thin or poor in nutrients.

Carnivorous plants can grow by a hundred genera. They have 630 species and still growing, hybridisation can be common for them. They have a good trapping mechanisms. The traps can be passive or active depending on the movement, after trapping the prey, it will result to the absorption of nutrients available.

Some species of carnivorous plants can be found in Australia, normally in the tropical wet areas. Drosera is one of the many, it grows on the wild forest and in mashy areas. Another group of carnivorous plants whose members are almost exclusively found in Australia is the Rainbow Plant (Byblis).

Australians love to have carnivorous plants in their garden, aside from the fact that the plant looks beautiful and stunning especially the flowers , the maintenance can be easy. You just need to know more about carnivorous plants and understand their growing conditions, by that you will be able to appreciate carnivorous plants more than the usual.
